Marketing and Design: Two loyal friends, find out why

The job of a marketer is talking about funnels, ROI, campaigns and more meanwhile the designer job’s is emotions, colors, images, etc. And now they need to work together cause they are more involved than you think. When they have to work on the UX or ADS it’s the time when they have to do a brainstorming and mix what they know for having the same goal. And in this article you will know why marketing and design are two loyal friends who are having a great value in this days.

Why marketing and design are partners on tech industries?

Now… imagine going back to the year 2000 where companies were going through some pretty big changes as consumers need to be changed in a very radical way. Now fast-forward to the year 2021, where our consumer habits are completely different from those in 2000. Since then, professions such as marketing and design have evolved in an impressive way thanks to the arrival of the tech industries. With the arrival of these new companies, which are 100% technological, two professions that seemed to be like water and oil, are now more united than ever.

Digital marketing is one of the professions that are impacting as much as it is absorbing too much attention. It has been one of the first to stand out in companies and businesses that have decided to be part of the digital environment, in which we are all living and the same happens with graphic design that today has already been transformed into Digital Design (and no, it is not the same as graphic design) which has become an important element for those who want to enter the internet. Both of these professions are needed, however nowadays one of the other for many reasons. We can point out that if a product or service does not look appealing visually, the customer would have less interest in it overall.

Web design, Illustrative design, Logo design, Branding, Photography and more…
These are just a few professions/sectors that we can mention in order to relate them to each other. Marketing and design work together so that users or consumers have a better perception of what the product or brand is. Both work hand in hand because they need each other as two good and loyal friends and a good example I can give you is the creation of ADS (advertising campaigns on social media) having a good image that catches the attention of the customer and good copywriting can create a good advertisement that could bring very good sales to your business.

Another excellent example of how these two careers are related can be the area of UX/UI (user experience and user design) in this case (UX) is marketing and it (UI) is design. The UX aims to understand how a user interacts and how your product satisfies that need, its essence undoubtedly comes from the user. And the UI is the one in charge of bringing it to life visually, that is to say the images, photography, typography and some other elements that you work with so that the user gets a good experience with what you are offering.

There are many more examples of how marketing and design are related and nowadays companies should set both professions as two fundamental tools for marketing development and growth, although if you are a marketer or designer you should also recognise this relationship that exists between both careers. There is already a speciality called Marketing Designer and it is growing every day in countries such as England and the United States. There is no doubt that in a few years this speciality will be one of the most important/essential for small or large companies.
