In 2020 a pandemic will shock our world, making us new forms of living. In my case I got a job but since the first day I started I never feel part of the company it was 8 difficult months but at the end of the day I decide to listen to my own instinct, so I left the company and start with my new goals, wasn’t be sure of what is going to be my next step but with the time I discovered, and now I’m here writing my second article of my new profession. I never imagine making both of my passions working together as one. You can read my last writing here.

But let’s focus on why you are here… I decided to add digital design as my new profession because I always think marketing and design are more involved than we think. Great! Don’t you think? Recently design is having a growth demand in the tech industry and marketing is also part of it. I always think digital graphics are attractive, previously my plans consisted of studying graphic design but thanks to many influences I decided my career was marketing. It has already passes a year since I complete my studies on University but always thought I can get more and thanks to those people who are such a good influence for my professional person I can say there are more I can do, for instance I have met people who are architects and the become incredible photographers or psychologist who are entrepreneurs…Did you get what I mean? There are no limits for us and I feel it’s my duty to improve every day. These are the 5 reasons why I want to be a marketing designer:

  1. Create new brands: Imagine being involved in the creation of the new company that develops awesome videogames, telling people you create the logo or narrate the story of how you passed more than 4 hours choosing the right colours. Telling your partners stories about how you create that awesome digital content and how you do it is a great experience I enjoy sharing. As I always say behind a good brand there’s a good story to tell.
  2. Design awesome interfaces UI: Designing interfaces is a cool way to grow as a designer, the technology industry is changing a lot of professions in future companies will need more designers focus on UX/UI or E-Mail Marketing.
  3. Marketing skills: Marketing is an old career but thanks to tech industrie it turned as we all know as a digital marketing. In this case marketing is more related to UX cause we always need to know what our customers need and how they perceive our products or services. We can say you are using marketing for having an opinion on what you are sailing. Course marketing has a lot of areas to get involved in so we can use it to get better communication between customer to business. The magic of marketing is we can use it and must need it in our startups, companies or industries.
  4. Programming skills like CSS + HTML: I’m not the kind of person who always wants to learn to program but now I see it’s probably the most important skill to learn. Programming (also java) opens a lot of opportunities and it can bring you a lot of knowledge.
  5. You need psychology techniques as a UX: This is the most exciting thing about UX, as we know making a good experience for users becomes a better prospect for sailings so playing with some psychology techniques can bring you better results for the way your prospects interact with your interface.

From strategies like Inbound marketing to UX/UI they create an excellent working team. However, having a line of study for this specialisation has turned out to be a bit complex, as it is not yet fully developed. So far, the little information I have managed to get for this career, the following skills are required: analytical, artistic and communication. But in my opinion it seems to me that it is more directed to the artistic and communicative. There are some youtubers who talk about this topic and they themselves emphasise that marketing design is more directed towards the perception of how the customer sees the brand or product, either in social media or traditional mass media such as TV. A good design can speak or communicate much more than words, creating an emotional bond with the user is more powerful, as it is more likely to be remembered by the user, which leads to a better sale.

Being a marketing designer implies having more skills that go with creativity (in my opinion), and if you like me are thinking about the same thing and you think you don’t have it let me tell you that being creative is a skill that can be developed and you just need to put in practice some new habits that can help you.

The role of this speciality consists of branding identity creation, marketing (obviously), graphic art, UX/UI and more. To me it sounds like the perfect job, it all involves a knowledge of software that is geared towards graphics and part of being in this field is where the craziest people create their ideas and as crazy as they sound the users accept them, you create an impact on people, messages that stick in their minds, an identity, experiences, emotions and a myriad of other things. The tech industry is a fact that is at the highest peak in demand, that is where companies will start to require trained staff to transform their companies and adapt to new modalities, companies will also have to change their ways of working, those that still operate in a traditional way will have to work even harder to hire staff that are more prepared and have the best skills to take them to another level.
